James Brandes, M.D.

Dr. Brandes specializes in the treatment of kidney disease, including caring for patients on hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.  Dr. Brandes is a native of Kenosha, Wisconsin and has a passion for teaching and quality improvement.

Dr. Brandes joined Midwest Nephrology in 1995.  Dr. Brandes served on the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor of Medicine from 1990-1995 and continues to hold a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine appointment at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Brandes has spoken extensively and published topics related to dialysis and specifically to peritoneal dialysis.

Dr. Brandes is Medical Director of the Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Capitol and Glendale facilities.
