Dr Warren graduated from Mysore Medical College in 1975. He completed
his internal medicine residency at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn,
IL and completed his nephrology fellowship at Rush Presbyterian
/ St Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, IL.
In 1989, Dr Warren established Midwest Nephrology Associates,
S.C. and Midwest Dialysis Center. Since 1991 Dr Warren has held
an assistant clinical professor of medicine appointment at the
Medical College of Wisconsin. He has served on the medical review
committee for Renal Network 11 for four years. Dr Warren's areas
of interest are chronic dialysis, kidney stones, and diabetic
kidney disease.
AMIR DANIEL, M.D.
Dr Daniel graduated from the University of Tehran Medical School
in 1980. He completed his internal medicine residency at Kingsbrook
Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and his nephrology
fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New
Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St Peter’s
Medical Center, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Dr Daniel is the medical director of Midwest Dialysis Center
– South facility. His areas of interest are acute and
chronic kidney disease.
TODD MUCHE, M.D.
Dr Muche graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine
in 1990. He completed his internal medicine residency and nephrology
fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Since 1995, Dr Muche has been an assistant clinical professor
at the University of Wisconsin-Madison medical school and
is actively involved in teaching programs for medical students
and residents at the Medical College of Wisconsin and St Joseph’s
Regional Medical Center. He has received numerous awards from
both. He was also the discussant for the Nephrology section of the American Board of Internal Medicine board review in Chicago in 2005.
Dr Muche is the medical director of Midwest Dialysis Center
– Good Hope facility and is the nephrology section chief
at St Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
JAMES BRANDES, M.D.
Dr Brandes is a native of Kenosha, WI. He graduated from the
Medical College of Wisconsin in 1985. He completed his internal
medicine residency and his nephrology fellowship at the Medical
college of Wisconsin. Dr Brandes served on the faculty of the
Medical College of Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor of Medicine
from 1990-1995 and continues to hold a clinical professor appointment
at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has received numerous
awards and honors in teaching and is a past recipient of a National
Institute of Health award.
Dr Brandes has spoken extensively and published topics related
to dialysis and specifically to peritoneal dialysis.
He currently serves as chairman of the Medical Review committee
of Renal Network 11. Dr Brandes is medical director of Midwest
Dialysis Center – Capitol and Glendale facilities. He is currently Chief of Medicine at St. Michael's Hospital and will be Chief of Staff at the hospital beginning in July 2006. His
areas of interest are in peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis
and hypertension.
PAUL WARREN, M.D.
Dr Warren graduated from St George’s University School
of Medicine in 1987. He completed his internal medicine residency
and his nephrology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr Warren co-authored articles on peritoneal dialysis and is
and active member in local medical societies.
Since 1996, Dr Warren has been an Assistant Clinical Professor
of medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison medical
school. He is medical director of Gambro Healthcare
– Lake Geneva Dialysis Center.
CLAIRE FRITSCHE, M.D.
Dr. Fritsche graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin
in 1978. She completed her internal medicine residency at the Medical
College of Wisconsin and her nephrology fellowship at Boston University
Affiliated Hospitals in Boston, Ma. She served as a clinical instructor
at Boston University Affiliated Hospitals and was an Assistant and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin before
joining Midwest Nephrology Associates.
Dr. Fritsche has received numerous awards, honors and research grants and is a past recipient of the teacher of the year award presented
by the Medical College of Wisconsin and the St. Luke's Residency Program.
She has published numerous papers related to Nephrology. Dr. Fritsche is the medical director of Midwest Dialysis Center - Ryan Road
facility. Her areas of interest are acute and chronic hemodialysis, transplant,and bone disease.
WILLIAM KRAKLOW, M.D.
Dr Kraklow is a native of Greenfield, Wisconsin. He graduated
from the medical college of Wisconsin in 1992. He completed
his internal medicine residency and his nephrology fellowship
at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Since 1998, Dr Kraklow has been an assistant clinical professor
of medicine at the medical college of Wisconsin-Madison Medical
School. He has received numerous honors and awards in teaching.
He is medical director of Midwest Kidney Care Centers in Kenosha and Racine.
His areas of interest are critical care nephrology, acute dialysis,
and electrolyte disorders.
LUBNA MAJEED, M.D.
Dr Majeed graduated from the Aga Khan University Medical College
in 1990. She completed her internal medicine residency at the
University of Stony Brook Health and Science Center in Stonybrook,
New York. She completed fellowships in nephrology and critical
care at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr Majeed joined Midwest Nephrology Associates in April of
2000. Dr Majeed is associate medical director of Midwest Dialysis
Center – Capitol facility. She is also an acute teaching
attending at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School.
Her areas of interest are dialysis and critical care nephrology.
KATHLEEN UY, M.D.
Dr Uy graduated from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay
Memorial Medical Center, in 1993. She completed her internal
medicine residency at the university of Chicago/Louis a. Weiss
memorial hospital. She completed her nephrology fellowship
at the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois.
Since 2002, Dr Uy has been an assistant clinical professor of
medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School.
Her areas of interest are acute and chronic dialysis, electrolyte
disorders, and kidney stones.
VASUNDHARA GANNE, M.D.
Dr Ganne graduated from Kurnool Medical College in 1996. She
completed her internal medicine residency at the Chicago Medical
School/Finch University of health sciences. She completed her
Nephrology Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr Ganne joined Midwest Nephrology Associates in October
2003. She has presented abstracts at nephrology meetings and
did research in kidney stones, while doing her fellowship.
Her areas of interest are acute and chronic dialysis, hypertension
and kidney stones.
OMER AFZAL, M.D.
Dr. Afzal graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore and
completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Southern Illinois
University in Springfield,IL. After that he completed his fellowship in
Nephrology and Hypertension at the Medical College of Wisconsin in
Milwaukee, WI. He joined Midwest Nephrology Associates in 2004
and is board certified in Internal Medicine, as well as Nephrology. He
is interested in chronic kidney disease, dialysis, hypertension and
kidney stones. His motto is to provide state of the art and
compassionate medical care to all his patients.
THERESA BECKER, MSN APRN
Theresa Becker graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She received a Master of Science Degree in Health Service Administration from Cardinal Stritch University in 1984. In 2002, she received her Master of Science in Nursing with certification as an adult nurse practitioner from Marquette University. She is Board Certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
Theresa's area of practice is coordinating patient care through Midwest Nephrology
Associates' Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic. The purpose of this clinic is to educate
patients on their renal disease. In addition, she prepares patients for kidney
dialysis and transplantation. She also manages anemia (low blood count) in patients
with chronic kidney disease through an anemia clinic.
